Patients & Caregivers
There are a lot of things about home healthcare that you may want to know. To start, did you know that home healthcare companies, like MedStar Visiting Nurse Association, send nurses and therapists right to your home? To help our patients heal safely at home, we offer skilled nursing, rehabilitation, IV therapy, wound care, MyHealth@Home disease management, telemonitoring and assistance with daily living activities. Clinical professionals will visit your home a few times a week, for about an hour, to check on you and assist with your medical needs. We work with your doctor to make sure you are recovering and living safely at home.

To learn more about your responsibilities as a home healthcare patient, you can visit this page: What to Expect After Your Doctor Orders Homecare (PDF). These frequently asked questions will also answer some of the most common questions about homecare, including eligibility requirements.
Patient Education and Resources
The most important objective of home healthcare is to help you live safely and independently in your own home. Our My Health@Home programs will help you to manage the symptoms of your chronic health conditions and care for yourself. The program includes Patient Education and Resources to help you and your caregivers understand your chronic disease and how to keep it under control.
Educational Videos
